I was pretty sure that, as with most years, this page would be pretty quiet until the summer, when most artists and labels would be making announcements about their forthcoming Christmas music.
But today, I came across two nuggets that I just had to pass along, even though it's only April.
First, I was directed to this post on Facebook.
And as far as I know, this was her only foray into Christmas music, a duet with UK comedian/actor Mel Smith in 1987.
I've got a little more info about the other new Christmas album in the works. This one is from Kelly Clarkson!
Kelly recorded a duet with Blake Shelton last year, for Blake's Christmas album. She also did a version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" for iTunes Sessions in 2011, which turned up on her Greatest Hits package last year. And she had a pair of songs on American Idol's Christmas album in 2003 ("O Holy Night" and "My Grown Up Christmas List".
There are rumors that we'll also be seeing Christmas albums this year from Pat Benatar, Shania Twain and Patty Smyth and Scandal! Looks like we're going to in for another great season!
Thanks for stopping by! And may you always believe in Santa Claus!
