It's been a rough week for music fans, as we said goodbye to Holly Dunn, Leon Russell and Leonard Cohen. And while it is sad that they aren't here creating new music, and playing in our towns, we are blessed to have their music legacy - a rich catalog of songs that make it seem like they are still sharing the season with us.

And with that idea, I'm launching something new. This coming weekend, and again one weekend in December, I'm celebrating those singers and musicians with an In Memoriam Weekend.

Hope you can tune in! It all starts this Friday evening, and running through Sunday night!

And may you always believe in Santa Claus!

Hi All!

I've been busy loading lots of new music, over 400 new songs so far for 2016, and I thought I would do something a little different this year.

Since there's so much new music, I'm going to feature it all day on Tuesdays, starting tomorrow (11/15)!

You can get a feel for what you'll hear by clicking on NEW FOR 2016 up above. And, of course, we'll be adding to it all season long!

And if there's something new that we've missed, please comment hear or send us an email and let us know!

And may you always believe in Santa Claus!

We're Back!

We’re back!

Christmas music officially began on the Sounds of Christmas this week!

I know not everyone is ready for it, but whenever you are, we’re up and rolling and ready for you!

Things are a little different this year, since Live 365 is no more. We’ve found a new home thanks to the folks at SonixCast, and over the course of the next week or so, we’ll be loading thousands of songs onto our new platform.

You can also find us on many other streaming music sites, including Shoutcast and TuneIn.

While we still plan on bringing you the best variety of Christmas music, you may occasionally here songs and/or artists repeated over the next couple of days. As we get everything in place, we’re shuffling it all as best we can.

About 800 songs are up and in rotation right now, so hopefully repeats will be minimal.

I’d like to thank the wonderful artists that have helped us get rolling as we being our tenth season – Louis Colaiannia, Fetal Records, Kevin Virnelson, the NOLA Players, Jenny & Tyler, Lauren Daigle, Classical Blast, David Markham and Truth Infusion Worship, Dawn Foss, the Laurence Juber Trio, Danny Wright and Kenny Davies.

By the way, you can find each of them on our front page, with links to their websites (or where you can grab their latest holiday release). Please check them out when you get a chance, especially when you hear their music this season!

As of right now, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to do some of the things we have done in previous years. Since we’re on so many more sites than in years past, there’s no way to let you vote on songs, so we may not be able to do weekly top ten lists. I’ll let you know for sure as soon as I can, so check back!

I also don’t know if we’ll be able to do our special daily hours, including the request hour and the new music hour. Again, please check back and I’ll let you know as soon as I can!

On the plus side, listening to the Sounds of Christmas has gotten about as easy as it can get. There’s a player on our front page, and you can simple click the play button on that. Or you can click on the tree, and a pop-up player will spring up, which will let you listen as you surf on the web.

Plus, the pop-up player has some nice features. First, you can click on the little shopping cart, and buy just about any song we play (from Amazon or iTunes, your choice). And if you click on the music notes, you can get lyrics to most of the songs, too.

There’s also an icon to share the Sounds of Christmas on Facebook and Twitter.

And on the right side, there are three lines. If you click that, you can see the last ten songs we played. If you want, you can click on any one of those and go straight to Amazon to grab it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing this very early part of the season with us!
And may you always believe in Santa Claus!

Ken
