Okay, I know it’s still October, but I always get excited when I turn the Sounds of Christmas back on!
And while it is still only October, we have started playing some music. Halloween-themed music. Just about one hundred songs about ghosts and werewolves and that kind of thing, mostly just to make sure everything is working.
The plan was that was going to continue straight through Halloween night, with the Christmas music starting on November 1.
To be honest, the Halloween music is mostly just for me and my wife. I mean, there’s definite value in kicking the tires and make sure everything is working, but I didn’t expect that anyone would be listening. Not yet.
But many of you are already listening. And sending in emails, asking for the Christmas music to start NOW!
I have plenty more songs to load, although our first thousand are in there, read and waiting. And I have some more things to test. And while I’m reluctant to start Christmas music the week before Halloween, I don’t want to ignore those of you already listening.
As of this morning, we have listeners in 29 states and 10 other countries!
So I’m going to offer up a couple of sneak peeks. This Tuesday and next Tuesday, I’m going to swap out the Halloween music for the Sounds of Christmas library.
This will be random, like it’s just a giant iPod set on “shuffle”. So while you will get a taste of what the upcoming season will sound like, there won’t be any real programming, so you may hear the same artist several times in a row, or catch two-three-four or more versions of the same song.
So for those who can’t wait any longer, you’ll get a little taste of the Sounds of Christmas on the next two Tuesdays.
And for the rest, if you like Halloween music, I hope you enjoy what we have for you! And please come back next month when the Sounds of Christmas is back on for real!
And may you always believe in Santa Claus!
