Hi All!
Every year, it seems like the season goes by faster and faster. I could have sworn I just turned the Sounds of Christmas back on, and now we're just days away from Christmas!
The Sounds of Christmas will keep going through Epiphany, so there's still a couple weeks of great Christmas music to come!
Thanks so much for listening to the Sounds of Christmas, and making us part of your holiday season! We're now being heard in all 50 states (plus Washington, DC), as well as 113 other countries!
The All-Request Hour continues this week (and through the rest of December). Still doing my best to get everyone's favorites on, but sometimes there are just so many requests for the same artist that it's a little tricky. Hope you got to hear yours, and if you didn't, the new Request Blog will be up later this weekend. If you click on REQUESTS at the top of this page, you'll find it, and you can comment with your requests and find out when they'll be on!
The All Request Hour runs from 12:00pm to 1:00pm (Eastern) each weekday.
The New Music Hour is going strong, too! From 8:00pm to 9:00pm (Eastern) each weeknight, you'll get an entire hour of the latest Christmas music! I'm still adding lots of new music, so you'll always get to hear something new! This week, you can catch new songs from Northern Light Orchestra, Chaise Lounge, Sci-Fi Romance and Stephen Colbert (with some very special friends)!
You can also hear the singers and bands that are sponsoring us this season, as well as those who have been a big part of the Sounds of Christmas in years past, on the Stars of the Sounds of Christmas. That airs four times a day, at 1:00am and 7:00am, and 1:00pm and 7:00pm. You'll hear from Richard Kincaid, Scotty McCreery, the Prog World Orchestra, Judy Pancoast, Chuck Cape, Frank D'Angelo, Luanne Hunt, Lois Mahalia and the Polyphonic Spree, as well as Tommy James, Shelby Lynne and Mannheim Steamroller (just to name a few).
Speaking of Scotty McCreery, the Scotty McCreery Song of the Day Contest wrapped up this week! Congrats to all our winners, and thanks to everyone who listened (and extra thanks to Scotty for sending the CDs)!
One more Tuesday left in December, which is Christmas Day, of course, and that will be the last Two For Tuesday of the season, with two songs in row, all day long, from all your favorite Christmas music artists!
That's the news for now, so let's move on to this week's top ten. Since the Sounds of Christmas plays thousands of songs, all the top ten's for the rest of the season will have at least twenty songs. It just seems hard to limit it to only ten, when we play so many!
Anyway, here's this week's list of the highest-rated songs on the Sounds of Christmas....
1) Susan Egan "All Those Christmas Cliches"
2) Casting Crowns "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day"
3) Little Isadore and the Inquisitors "Christmas Of Love"
4) Mannheim Steamroller "Above The Northern Lights"
5) Otis Redding "White Christmas"
6) Lisa McClowry "Before The Tree Comes Down"
7) Mulberry Lane "Happy Holidays"
8) Oasis "Merry Christmas Everybody"
9) Ray Charles "Christmas In My Heart"
10) Kay Starr "The Man With The Bag"
11) Michael Buble "Grown Up Christmas List"
12) Francesca Battistelli "Christmas Dreams"
13) Lois Mahalia "I'd Like You For Christmas"
14) Sheryl Crow "Blue Christmas"
15) Fun "Sleigh Ride"
16) Elvis Presley "If Every day Was Like Christmas"
17) Sting "I Saw Three Ships"
18) The Empty Pockets "Baby It's Cold Outside"
19) Josh Groban "I'll Be Home For Christmas"
20) Polyphonic Spree "A Working Elf's Theme"
By the way, if you want your voice to be heard, rating the music we play, you can find the details on how to do that RIGHT HERE!
Thanks again for listening, and sharing the season with us! If you know someone who loves Christmas music, please send them my way!
And may you always believe in Santa Claus!
Ken
